[Review] Lancôme Crème Mousse Confort

Hey everyone! I hope you guys are all enjoying your Thanksgiving long weekend…anyways, I have another review for you guys. A variation of my HG cleanser, I was given this as a sample and thought it would be the perfect opportunity to compare the two.

The claim: “Rich and gentle, this luxurious creamy cleanser delivers a voluptuous foam to melt away makeup, even waterproof, and dissolve impurities. The instantly comforting formula with nourishing Rosehip Oil and soothing Rose de France cleanses skin leaving it soft, supple and satiny-smooth. Skin looks radiant, feels soft and smooth. Skin is soothed and comforted, with a strengthened moisture barrier to preserve it from dryness.” That is a pretty big claim…a foam cleanser that both dissolved impurities (i.e. gets your skin super clean) and moisturizes? Sounds too good to be true.

Alright, let’s get started. The sample is pretty generous, considering how it’s basically half the size of a full-size (As you can see from the above picture). A sample size tube is 50 mL, and the full-size is 125 mL. It’s definitely more than enough to see whether or not you like it.

The packaging is typical Lancôme packaging, simple but still very nice. I also like the fact that it’s in a tube…hygienic and convenient, especially for those late mornings.

Like with all Lancôme products, this is pretty pricey…$36.00 for 125 mL (i.e. about half a year’s worth). However, if you wait for a gift with purchase, then you’ll get a pretty good deal (That’s how I got this sample in the first place!).

The cleanser smells pretty strongly perfumed, so anyone who is sensitive to those kinds of things might want to be careful. I don’t mind because it’s a sample, and I love their cleansers…just a warning, though. Like its variation, a little goes a really long way. That sample size lasted me a little over 3 months. It’s a cream, and then turns into a foam, which is pretty nice. It foams up pretty nicely, too.

This definitely gets your skin pretty clean, but not quite as squeaky clean as my HG variation. It still dissolves make-up pretty nicely, though. If you have really stubborn waterproof eyeliner or glitter shadow or anything, though, it would probably be a good idea to use a make-up remover before this.

This doesn’t leave behind any sort of tight or dry feeling afterwards, which is definitely a plus. However, it also doesn’t make your skin feel soft or supple, nor does it really soothe or comfort your skin. So, unfortunately, that part of the claim isn’t true. However, this cleanser would definitely be a good choice for people with sensitive skin or even with dry skin, since this isn’t drying. I also doubt it strengthens your skin’s moisture barrier, but at least it does a good job of cleaning and you get a lot of product with it.

So, all in all, though it doesn’t exactly live up to its claims, it’s still a pretty good cleanser.

  • Nice, convenient package
  • A little goes a long way
  • Foams up pretty nicely
  • Gets skin nice and clean (Even with make-up)
  • No tight or dry feeling
  • Can be used by those with sensitive or even dry skin

  • Expensive
  • Strong scent
  • Doesn’t quite get skin squeaky clean
  • Doesn’t live up to all of its claims

Overall rating: 8/10

Would I purchase? I don’t think so.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a really nice cleanser…but I love clarifying version more, simply because it gets my skin so incredibly clean. However, I do recommend this to people who want a great clean but find most foam cleansers too drying…because this cleanser is definitely not like that! Anyways, I hope you enjoyed today’s review and have a great Thanksgiving!
