[Review] Claire’s Glitter Nail Polish

Hey everyone! I haven’t done one of these in a while, so here’s a short nail polish review for you all.

Now, when people think of nail polish, Claire’s isn’t usually a nail polish that comes to mind. However, I happened upon some nail polish that was on sale once (For only $2.00!), and decided to get it.

This was available in purple, pink and blue (All glittery pastel shades). I got the blue one.

Looking at the bottle, I’m sure you see why, right? Isn’t that rose bottle just beautiful? Plus, that colour is just gorgeous. Doesn’t it remind you of Cinderella? (The colour is a little darker in the picture than it is in real life, by the way. The bottle is pretty princess-y, as well.).

Not only is the bottle very pretty, but also functional. The brush is simple but easy to use, too.

The colour is a beautiful Cinderella blue (I’m officially calling it this) with fine glitter.

The colour is pretty sheer when you only apply one coat, but that makes it perfect to use on top of other colours. If you apply a thin coat, it adds a beautiful Cinderella blue glitter to whatever polish you’ve used underneath.

Plus, since I usually use this on top of other polishes, it doesn’t have to be perfect. Not even close. It’s sheer enough that I can apply this in a rush and still have it come out beautifully. And it adds some sparkle to a plain manicure, so it’s definitely great to use…perfect for fancy events!

With a few more coats, you can get a pretty nice blue, but I wouldn’t use this as a base polish.

The formula is a little on the thick and goopy side, which means it can get streaky, but I don’t wear this polish alone and only use thin coats of it, so this isn’t a problem for me.

The wear time for this polish is a lot better than I expected. It lasted for almost 2 weeks without any chips (With top coat).

As an added bonus, this was surprisingly easy to remove, despite it being a glitter polish (And we all know how difficult those can be to remove most of the time…).

The polish does separate after a while, but shaking it a little usually solves that problem.

I may have purchased it for the pretty bottle and colour, but this polish has definitely impressed it. It has slowly made its way into more and more of my manicures (Especially during the wintertime!).

Pros:

  • Beautiful bottle
  • Gorgeous colour
  • Brush easy to use
  • Good to use on top of other polishes
  • Long wear time
  • Easy to remove

Cons:

  • Sheer
  • Formula a little thick and goopy
  • Separates after a while

Overall rating: 9/10

Would I repurchase? Yes! However…

…this polish seems to be, sadly, discontinued. This purchase has, though, given me some more faith in Claire’s polishes. Or, at least, their glitter polishes. Perhaps I will make another purchase in the future (Considering that they seem to have sales quite often).
